The APEX MLB (Modern Longboard) STING is the mash-up of Ben's Kanoa Comp model and the MLB Sting. Featuring a rail profile reflective of a current high performance shortboard and bottom contours that compliment noserider and performance reactions. The APEX MLB combos the best of both worlds and is the Apex predator of it's kind.

The 70's Sting

The board design that changed the world of surfing. In the early 70’s Ben Aipa envisioned and created “Da Sting”. The first winged board of its kind. This unmistakable outline ushered in one of the most explosive moments in surf history. This boards influence can be seen in every winged board to date. The positioning of the wing allows for early release and a sharper turn.

This version keeps the classic features with a slightly more curvy tail section.

The Dark Twinn

The Dark Twinn is the twin fin counterpart of the Dark Horse. Designed as a performance groveler and shifting the wing to align with twin fin placement, Duke combo’ed Bens Twin and Swing templates used in 1978 with modern curves and contours. Trailer box is optional.

Big Boy Sting

The Big Boy Sting circa late 90’s /early 2000’s era, is Bens most repeatedly built board. A favored model for 210 pound plus surfer, the Big Boy Sting is designed with the big guys ( or ladies) in mind. Thickness where is counts and tapered rails for maneuverability. FUSION STING

The Sting has metamorphized countless times since it’s inception in 1974, always progressing along with the eras of performance. The Fusion Sting Series is the most recent evolution of the design utilizing modern design attributes. It incorporates all of Bens original Sting concepts of inducing volume under the chest for float and paddle power while abruptly breaking the rail line for a pronounced and increased responsiveness.

The break in the rail where the sting is placed functions as a early pivot point, similar feeling to moving the tail up 1/3 of the board. This is accented by a wide variety of tail types behind the wing with bottom countours manipulated to accent the tails response characteristics in combination with the Sting.

The featured Fusion Series model is the Fusion AT/ Arche-Type , rightfully name as it was the first of it’s kind in this series.

Followed by the Fusion KS(The Killswitch), Fusion SB(The Sting-Bat), Fusion MF(The Mind-F), and Fusion ST (The Standard).

The 65 Makaha

The 65 MAKAHA is a classic longboard designed to resonate Ben's personal board made at Surfboards Makaha in the mid 60's that already showed how far ahead he was in his designs.

This board features your typical 1960's 50/50 Rails from the nose down, that Ben transitioned to a 60/40 at the bottom 1/3 of the board with a defined edge and heavy rolled bottom to a vee.

Da Kaiser

One of Bens favorite testing grounds for new board designs was a spot called “ Kaisers” on the South Shore of Oahu. The Kaiser is modeled after one of Bens personal favorites made popular by his gouging cutback caught on film by Warren Bolster showing off a massive double box single fin. This modern version is available in 4 plus 1 or 5 fin setups. Rolled bottom nose to Vee midsection transitioning to a double concave.

The Funboy is based off of the KRV model that Ben made for Kanoa Dahlin. This redesign was focused on creating a versatile beginner to intermediate board that works in all conditions. The boards generous forward section allows for getting into waves with ease, and with the pulled in tail, makes it easy to maneuver. Standard fin set up allows for the board to surfed as a single fin, a quad or a TWIN!
